Just wondering if I could get one of the CPod experts to explain to me the meaning and use of 委屈。I feel like I hear it a good bit, but am thinking that the meaning might go beyond "to feel wronged," which is what the dictionary says.  Thanks!

This word is definitely tricky to translate.  It's one of those words where a lot of exposure to different contexts and uses helps a lot.

The ChinesePod glossary entry for 委屈 doesn't have a lot of info, but nciku has more.

"To feel wronged" is actually not a bad translation, as awkward as it sounds.  If you're familiar with the situation, though, I think it might often be more natural to translate 委屈 simply as "upset" if they sentence is something like 他觉得很委屈.

As a noun, you're going to have to bring "treatment" into it.

Are there any specific examples you'd like to ask about?
