Dyslexia and tone deafness in Chinese people

Hi all,

This is my first post in the community and it is about something that I am quite interested in.

Dyslexia and tone deafness among Chinese people.

Tone deafness I am interested in for obvious reasons. How can tone deaf Chinese people - and I feel certain that there must be some afflicted by this - speak Chinese? With some cursory research you will find that the instances of tone deafness are much lower among tonal language speakers, however this implies that they are not non-existant...

Secondly, how does dyslexia affect the writing/reading of characters. I guess that some of the users on this site will themselves be dyslexic so could possibly shed some light on this?
