Anyone here interested in China? ...Or podcasts? ...Or (perhaps even) both? If so, it might be worth checking out this new podcast series from the BBC.

China: As History is My Witness (click here)

Here’s the blurb:

From emperors to poets to generals, the BBC’s former Beijing correspondent Carrie Gracie explores the lives of key figures from China’s rich past to examine how Chinese society has evolved over the past 3,000 years.

There’s currently 8 podcasts up there and looks like a new one will be published every day (until they run out of steam).

Just thought I’d share in case it’s of interest to anyone.

Regards...

Thanks Toianw, great stuff. I learned so little of Chinese History in school. I just recently studied the Taiping rebellion on my own. I had no idea It had been led by "the younger brother of Jesus christ". How did I miss that one?

Thanks for posting this.  Someday I hope to teach Mandarin and the History and Culture of China in US schools, so this is great resource!

Interesting! 谢谢!

Recently I've noticed quite a few things on the BBC News website relating to China and its history. Check out this Chinese history quiz, a number of interesting links can also be found at the bottom of the page.
