Bazza,
Yeah, you're right... it's still under construction in the city8 thing, but the gate to the office complex is right where you see the gate to the construction site.

April 26, 2008 at 01:39 PMYeah I know, it's brilliant. You can 'walk' up and down the streets with the green arrows as well. :) There's one for Beijing as well. http://bj.city8.com/POI/32561_LNWG

Wow.. that is an amazing site Bazza! I can essentially walk through the streets of Shanghai by dragging the little "eye" around.. That must have taken them a long time to video all that?

I think this matches the Google Earth position a bit better:

April 26, 2008 at 11:01 AMIt is the one on the other side of the road half constructed? Or is it in the space to the right?

Bazza,
Nope, that's not the building. The building is actually new.
Also, your map is a bit off. The new office isn't even on that map. Also, it's in 长宁区 (Chángníng Qū), not 静安区 (Jìng'ān Qū).
I will post a map shortly.

Thanks bbjt. I usually never look at a website's "Contact us" page because it is usually just email addy's. Guess I better start, huh? :)

bazza: There is no building at these coords in Google Earth. Is that because the building is so new ??

I think the Google Earth co-ordinates are somewhere near here: 31°13'51.66"N 121°25'25.92"E

So what is the new address? I have not been able to find it on the site. I currently have a temporary itinerary to be in Shanghai and Wuxi from May 29 to June 14 and would love to come by and meet all of the staff and see the facility.

hey henning,
Don't worry, this 'hood is China 得不得了 (China de bùdeliǎo). We even have a replacement for BSR (bad service restaurant) already. It's called "white cat restaurant". He walks around over your feet while you eat noodles. (Though i'm thinking of upgrading the name to 'off-white cat restaurant', as there is no such thing as a truly white cat in Shanghai.)

Congratulations.
I actually liked the old Factory very much, because it was so much embedded in the China I learned to love. I hope there are at least some traces of that in your the new office building...

Sunlight, sweet sunlight!
Here's hoping the cave-like atmosphere of the Factory wasn't the key to our success. :)

The bathrooms are sweet! I feel like a funky office worker now, it's a pretty cool space. And we have an awesome view of Suzhou Creek and China going by outside.
