hey susan,

i cannot find our discussions we have already had....but anyway this is a message to say that we need to concentrate on the love letter one as well because we are doing 2 dialogues...and we need to dsicuss props....i dont know, do you have a male wig or something for the boy, and also maybe just some plastic take away coffee cups will be fine for the first dialogue we do

ok, thats weird, i cant see it either. That is annoying. Anyway, surprisingly, I don't have a boy wig, however I do have a tie that could be worn, maybe the Chen Li could wear a ribbon in her hair or something. Maybe we could asume that both Zhang Liang and Chen Li would be carrying the same book or wearing a flower or something so that they could recognise each other in their first meeting?

I have a quick translation for the jealous friend: Well it is obvoius that Zhang Liang is meeting Lili's friend (Chen Jing) for the first time and that they are late. They have all clearly met up at a resturant for dinner or lunch, and throughout the whole conversation Chen Jing makes little nasty comments about the relationship between Zhang Liang and Lili such as "Lili is always complaining that you are so busy", "(Lili) you say you have good intentions, however now that you have Zhang Liang, you have forgotten me", "id ont want to be a third wheel", "Why are you this housewife Lili, you only anguish about Zhang Liang" etc. Chen Jing apparently is not happy about their relationship and while she makes these snipes at them both Chen Li and Zhang Liang defend Chen Li and her friendship with Chen Jing. There is an odd arguement at the end when Chen Jing suggests that they order lobster as it is the restuarant's speciality, Chen Li (rather foolishly, I believe) asks that Chen Jing is not on a diet at the moment, and says that Zhang Liang, more than anyone can order what he chooses (the housewife comment follows). Zhang Liang tries to settle the situation by saying that Chen Jing is really thin and doesnt need to lose weight. Chen Jing says it is fine, lets order the lobster, but it is clear that there is still tension in the air about the whole situation.

I'll post a translation of my next convo tomorrow Susan
