I am curious about the status / progress on the uservoice and the planned activities (i.e. character functionality, pdf's etc. ). Is there anyone who can shed some light on this? I know you all are working very hard on the new system etc. so, this is not critique just curiosity! Any news? :-)

Yes, Please tell us. These are the kinds of things I would like to hear on N&F (in addition to the current fare.)

Let's wait for the miraculous update that is supposedly scheduled for the next couple days and then get back to the question.

BTW: Does it have a name or version number? Like V5? or V4-iceberg?

chanelle,
i for "iceberg" - the name of an older CPod release that was supposed to change the mechanics of the site "below the surface" without much changes visible on the user site. Unfortunately, in reality this update turned into a rather nightmarish Titanic style iceberg. Some of the survivers still strugge with the trauma, which is why the i-word has become taboo.

Seeing as it's just the word that's taboo 禁忌,I thought this amazing 照片 could represent the greater transparency that is oft talked about:

Hey guys...

The AMS update won't affect the site in any major way, but it does allow us to make some "minor" changes that many of you have been clamoring for: (1) PDFs for Qing Wen lessons or Poems with Pete, (2) special changes to individual lessons, and (3) support for the upcoming new exercises (no Flash, javascript, support for traditional characters).  The whole reason behind revamping the AMS was to make the lesson creation process easier for our own staff, but it does bring benefits to you users as well.

I admit that UserVoice has not gotten enough attention lately. This is my fault; I was the one moderating it and I've been entirely too caught up in tech developments on top of the usual recording schedule. We will update it this week for sure, and I'll hand moderation duties off to Matt.

Please understand that we are still paying attention to UserVoice, and we continue to listen. In fact there are a few of your requests on the list that can be marked as completed, and we'll get to those first!

John, thank you for sharing this. Good luck with the revamping!
