... and I thought I understood the "了"...

In the "Haibao" lesson expansion the sentence 东 西 is translated as "she WENT shopping" - past tense. I thought a "了" at the end means a change of situation so e.g. "she will go shopping" and for past tense the "了" comes after the verb like 她去了买东西。 Please YinXue help me ;-)

(She went shopping.)

Hi

I think you understand the “了”..

but there are two verbs in this sentence, "去" and "买".in that case, you have to put the “ 了" at the end of the sentence to mean the accomplishment of the movement.
