Ms Grace lǎoshī 你好,

晚上好。I would like to ask you about the zhōngwén for the phrase "I am excited..." followed by any action.

Can you please give me some examples on how to use it in zhōngwén?

谢谢。

你好 Marlon,

Do you mean "to be excited about sth/about doing sth"?

Like"wǒ hěn jīdòng mīngtiān yào qù Bei1jing1 lǚxíng le." (I'm excited about travelling to Beijing tomorrow.)

"zhōngqiūjié kuài dào le, wǒ hǎo xīngfèn/jīdòng."(The Mid-Autumn Day is just around the corner, I'm so excited.)

But you know an English word can be different meanings in Chinese. So I think you'd better give me some sentences.

你好 Ms Grace lǎoshī,

Thank you for these examples i guess it answers my question...

With regards to "shuōhuà" and the mere "shuō", yǒu shénme bù yiyang? Also, when do we use the former and the latter?

谢谢你!

你好 Marlon,

"shuōhuà" means to talk or to chat, while "shuō" can be to speak、to say or to explain.

I'd like give you some examples:

shuōhuà:

wǒ bù xǐhuan ta. wǒ bùxiǎng gēn tā shuōhuà.(I don't like him. I don't want to talk with him.)

shàngkè de shíhou qǐng búyào shuōhuà.(No talking in classes, please.)

shuō:

tā huì shuō hànyǔ. (He speaks Chinese.)

qǐng shuō mànyīdiǎn.(Please speak more slowly.)

nǐ shuōde hěnduì.(What you say is quite true.)

Tā shuō tā bù lái le.(He said he wouldn't come.)

Tā shuōle hěncháng shíjian wǒ háishì bù dǒng.(He explained quite a long time, but I still couldn't understand.)

Hope it helps.
