Also, what's the difference between "chifan," (dinner) and "chi fan" (to eat rice)??

What's the average height for Chinese men? I'm starting to get a little worried about this... I'm going to China in a couple of months, and I'm 164 cm. Is this a respectable height in China for men? I know it isn't respectable in the U.S. (I speak from experience).

Would it be polite to say "I cannot drink because I have a past addiction?" That might damper the mood a bit, but maybe solve the problem... I suppose you could also pretend to drink by just allowing the liquid to touch your lips and then putting the glass down soon afterwards.

My friend tells me that I keep saying "I want to eat Xiamen." I'm having trouble distinguishing "eat" and "go." Any links for further help on this?
