I think a good solution to nourelhouda's dilemma would be to have lessons of varying levels that all cover the same topic, i.e. Beginner pregnancy dialogue, intermediate pregnancy diaologue, advanced, etc. The difficulty increases but the content stays the same. That way you could listen at your own level and then move up in the same mindset to see how much you actually understand.

I know this would require a lot of work across the board to implement it, but whadaya say, Chinesepod?

Yes, we were glad that Yi Jianlian finally came around and made the decision to join the Bucks. He didn't want to come at first, because the Chinese population here is not so large, but I think he'll realize the benefit of living in an area with so many dedicated sports fans!

Thanks for that link, Henning, it's awesome! I've used the IME pad on the Windows language toolbar but the box is so small it makes it hard to write anything. This is definitely the better alternative. Nothing that speeds up your learning can be considered a spoiler.

Bazza, I believe you are correct. From my experience if you want to distinguish between meat pie and a dessert pie you call them 肉餡餅(ròu xiànbǐng) and 果餡餅(guǒ xiànbǐng), respectively. Yikes, I did those in fantizi. Well, hope you can still read them. I have also seen pie written as 排, which I can only assume is a transliteration.

With the phrase: 十块钱一个小时。(10 kuai one hour) Can a native Chinese speaker tell me if it is also acceptable to say: 一个小时十块钱。(one hour 10 kuai) I only ask because I would more likely use the latter, but I don't want to if it's incorrect or sounds unnatural. Thanks! p.s. Jupiter, I DO think Chinese is interesting.

It's always nice to say "please" in any language, whether people usually do it or not.
