it seems to me that in the pinyin chart (mac) the pronounciation of xiong is incorrectly given as that of qiong, it looks like a mix up of audio links.

Hi everyone,

I am a real newbie (well, not so new, but lacking time) whereas most posters here seem really proficient in Mandarin. My comment: I never heard 不知道 pronounced the way it is done in the lesson; rather it is compressed to an utterance which took me some time (in the street) to understand it meant "I don't know" , although I was in "pure" Mandarin area. Maybe good to give/discuss the 'street' pronounciation of such high frequency words in addition to the formal one.
