I learned about this story in elementary school eons ago and suggested to my parents that they tell this story to my niece for her next Chinese lesson with them. Enjoyed this  lesson!

The title and the picture made me want to listen to this lesson. :D

How come it's not the woman bugging the man for a phone number?

I agree with Jenny. Web Development is a sexy topic; perhaps a future topic?

So is the latest Qingwen lesson on 走,去 and 离开 designed with this event in mind? Is this what Connie had in mind with her "emotional" 别离开我? :)

Jenny's 经常不及格 quip reminded me of one of my Chinese language teachers in the Philippines. After grading the tests, she'd return the tests by announcing the grades from 一百分 all the way down to 七十五分 and the names of the students associated with each grade。For those whose test scores were below 75, she'll announce with "authority and derision" 下来不及格. She was brutal and thought shaming would motivate students to study hard.

On another note, my grandparents were 南方人 and I am glad they were! :)

Hello,

If I had known about this lesson, my Mandarin adventure yesterday at the eyeglasses store in Cupertino, California would have been even more fun. The store is staffed with Chinese and Taiwanese saleswomen.

So how does one say "Are my 眼镜 ready yet?" I have to call the store in two weeks about the availabilty of my eyeglasses. Also, what is the Chinese term for clip-on? My eyeglasses come with a clip-on.

Thanks!

When I first saw the title, I thought it said "A Waste of a Husband." After reading the dialogue, he is a waste of a husband. :)

Jenny,

All android smartphones and tablets require a one-time set up of one's gmail account. I've done this five times (I had to deal with five different android devices). Google gives android owners the illusion that loading an app doesn't require setting up an account but Google (like Apple, Facebook, etc.) knows everything we have installed on our devices.

Jenny and John,

Listening to this lesson made me realize how much I miss your lessons in the past two years. You two are a terrific pair of teachers, a dynamic duo! But John, I'd put Jenny on a pedestal and over you anytime! ;-)

How come there's no mention of 白巧克力摩卡咖啡 in this lesson?

Jenny,

对!我是一个苹果粉丝男孩,可是我也有Android 智能机和 tablet. 所以我知道iPhone比Android好!;-)

I was hoping for a 欢迎欢迎热热欢迎 from you! :)

John,

Your iPhone 3GS is better than my iPhone 3G! :)
