This is a very interesting question. Here is how I see it (and I hope someone can correct me if I'm wrong):
你穿这件衣服很好看。Here there is no 的, and can be translated to something close to "You look good wearing that clothing."
你穿的这件衣服很好看。Here there is a 的, and can be translated to something cloes to "The clothing you're wearing looks good."
Adding the 的 word makes clothing a part of the subject, and changes the meaning of the sentence.
Let me know if this helps, or even if it doesn't! And if I got anything wrong, I'd love if someone more learned than me could chime in!

March 26, 2015, 09:29 PMLots of people aren't 100% tech savvy, so I think larger text is good if you're starting out... but I'm surprised the text is super huge in the advanced lessons. I always zoom out to 50% of the original page size, so I can read a paragraph of 汉字 without scrolling.
That said, I'm generally crazy happy with cPod - past and present!
