richnirish, I think you meant to say 还行 instead of 海星,right? But I understand as you type pinyin the first default chinese popping up is 海星 driven by Windows. Hope this is correct. henry

What is the most common name for girls in China? This is the first time for me to hear 雯雯。 What is the story or meaning behind this particular name if any? henry

Jenny, What do you mean by saying "However, starch is rare to find in China."? You mean they do not do starch clothes now in China at all even in the countryside? Can you elaborate for me? By the way,I like your avatar. it is so cute "Atom Boy" from old day's cartoon in Korea. henrylee

Amber, Ken and Connie, Good lesson as always...especially to get familiar with the useful pattern of expression like today's unique to Chinese language. I found a very good 10 examples using 少(shao3) 什么 多(duo1) 什么 pattern expression to keep good health. I am not sure where this is from as an author. I just keep Korean words as quoted to explain the meaning and my translation in English. ===健康十训=== 1. 少怒 多笑 (소노 다소) - 화를 적게 내고 많이 웃어라.= Don't get angry often but laugh more. 2. 少煩 多眠 (소번 다면) - 번뇌하지 말고(고민을 적게 하고) 잠을 많이 자라.= Don't be bothered so much but sleep more. 3. 少慾 多施 (소욕 다시) - 욕심을 적게 내고 많이 베풀어라.= Don't wish to own more for yourself but offer more for others. 4. 少言 多行 (소언 다행) - 말을 적게 하고 많이 행하라.= Don't speak too much but just do execute more . 5. 少乘 多步 (소승 다보) - 차를 적게 타고 많이 걸어라.= Do not drive a car so often but do walk more on foot. 6. 少衣 多浴 (소의 다욕) - 옷을 적게 입고 목욕을 자주하라.= Don't wear so many clothes but take more baths. 7. 少食 多定 (소식 다정) - 음식을 적게 먹고 많이 명상하라.= Don't eat too much but meditate more. 8. 少肉 多菜 (소육 다채) - 고기를 적게 먹고 채소를 많이 먹어라.= Don't eat so much meat but eat more vegetables 9. 少糖 多果 (소당 다과) - 단 것을 적게 먹고 과일은 많이 먹어라.= Don't take so much sugar but eat more fruits. 10. 少厚 多薄 (소후 다박) - 진한 음식은 적게 먹고 담백한 음식은 많이 먹어라= Don't eat food with so much/thick/heavy seasonings but eat with little/thin/light seasonings. Hope everyone to enjoy these expressions and keep in good health this year on with better Chinese language. Henry Lee from Korea
