The iphone will only play limited formats from iphone safari. the m4v version on the full website should play on an iphone if it is downloaded on a PC or Mac and then copied to your iphone using itunes. I just tried this on my Mac and now have the video on my iphone under video in the ipod app.

November 13, 2007, 12:06 PMThis thread has quite a bit of talk about pricing. Not really the topic for here but really when you consider the cost of a course at a UNI or college these days. In Australia one 6 month course will cost you US$900-1500 so for $240 per year for all the resources here just sit back and enjoy. If you have no cash you can still access a fair amount of material.

November 13, 2007, 11:05 AMI am new to CPOD. I only discovered it yesterday but I am finding it so good so far. It is really good to hear from other learners how they prepare. I am a lazy learner and i really need to do some hard work to advance. I have known a little mandarin for a couple of years now, have been to China a couple of times and have a Chinese wife but i find the only time I learn more Chinese is when i am in China. I will stay tuned to you people in the community to help motivate myself to learn more rapidly.

You will need the mp4 codec which is h.264 I think. If you download and install ffdshow it will install a whole bunch of popular codecs and runs on XP and Vista. http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow. Qucktime may come with the appropriate codecs as an alternative but with ffdshow you can still use media player. As a bonus it will also allow you to download and display subtitles on movies which can be handy when learning mandarin.
