Thankyou Pete for a good series.

I have been learning 'Grass', the first of the series I picked up, and have had fun sharing it with my homeschooled Nieces. I, too, will miss this little corner of Chinese Culture.

It was tea that led me to study Chinese. I couldn't get on with green tea to start with so trained myself into it using decreasing amounts of milk. You'll scream when I tell you it was a top grade Long Jin one of my husbands students brought back as a gift from his family to his Tutor for Chinese New Year!

Now I drink the lot- Pu Erh being the fav. Milk is kept for the Co-op 99.

I went to buy the ribs at lunch. Guess what we're having for dinner!

This has just become my Tuesday lunchtime treat. I was so bussy cutting and pasting the poem and other info I let my green tea stew!

I'm still a newby but this is so interesting - it has been made so accessable - I have gained from it. Very many thanks.

I have been re-reading Jane Austen's 'Pride and Predudice'. Written at the end of the 18th century I'm seeing similarities and differences with the Chinese concept of 'face'. Thank you for the language and the culture.
