February 28, 2011, 02:51 AMwhy is "ZhongGuoTong" translated as "old China hand" ? I understand that it means a person who is very knowledgeable of China and Chinese, but I don't understand why it's defined "old China hand" in English

February 27, 2011, 08:17 PMdamn, you weren't kidding about how ambiguous that word is. I hope Chinese language doesn't keep going into this direction of new and strange words .
Thanks for the reply!

February 26, 2011, 02:43 PMThe vocabulary section has a word , 暧昧, that's defined as "affair ; inappropriate relationship".
I was curious about this word so I looked it up in another dictionary and it says " vague, ambiguous, shady" . Can somebody from the site briefly confirm the translation in the vocab section for this word ? And perhaps briefly explain if it's one of those new trendy words, or whatever ?

Would it be wrong to add a 的 after 你, in the second line of the dialogue? It would be “你的中文说的很好”, instead of “你中文说得很好”
