He studied British english in China and we went out to the mall. He works in a Chinese restaurant with me. His laptop has a English-Chinese translator so that's how we communicate but at work I use basic phrases I learn from Chinesepod and it has made a remarkable difference

I have a Chinese guy friend who is 25 who lives in the US, I really like him, but I'm 19. I heard that Chinese men are supposed to be married at 25, but yet my chinese isn't really good and his english is bad. He told me we should be good friends for now and maybe later, but Im afraid he will never date me because Im from a different nationality.

Would it affect the meaning?
