February 05, 2009, 10:19 AMVery funny John!
How can you dare to say that in public? hahahaha
Well, they've always been pretty bad, but for the price of 3.5 kuais they get really appealing. There is nothing really Mexican on it beside the fact that it is some bad imitation of a "tortilla" rolling up something else. At the beginning the "tortillas" they used weren't that bad, now they use those kind of kaoya (roasted duck) "tortillas" made out of rice.

February 05, 2009, 09:18 AMI guess there are a lot of names for Mexican food still to be discovered in Chinese, but thanks Jenny! This is a great start. It is also good that you call a "tortilla" by its real name and not "Taco" or "Fajitas" as many people do. Hehehe
My recommendation as a Mexican, for people who would like to visit Mexico City: it is quite a wild city, it's better to visit it with a Mexican or someone who already knows the city and knows where to go and where not to go. Just be cautious. It doesn't mean that you have to be scared, but just don't hang around showing your wallet in public. Don't go out walking on the street with a big golden Rolex, a big diamond ring or anything very shiny and you should be alright. Also, another good tip, don't take whatever taxi on the street. It is better to call it from a Hotel or a Restaurant to be sure that you get a legal taxi. Besides that, Mexico City is a great city rich in culture and history, beautiful architecture from different styles coming back from the pre-Hispanic times all the way to high rise skyscrappers. It is a city many theaters, where you can find all kind of plays and world class shows. It has incredible museums and the ruins of Teotihuacan are amazing! The Piramide del Sol (The Sun pyramid) it's taller than any of the pyramids in Egipt, just so you imagine the magnitud of this archeological site. Then the food is ridiculously good, from the spicy Tacos on the corner stand to some of the finest restaurants in the world. Believe me it is all culinary adventure. Don't miss the Mariachis--the international representation of Mexican music. You can listen to them in a lot restaurants on an outside terraze. By the way the weather is just great the whole year around, not too hot, not too cold. Finally, I have to say that people can be very friendly, I mean... if you don't pay attention to people when they drive and I understand them, because driving around Mexico city can really be like hell.
墨西哥城真令人兴奋 (moxige cheng zhen ling ren xing fen)

August 25, 2008, 07:52 AMSometimes I get so frustrated with those traditional characters. It's already very hard with the simplified ones and then I figure that I also have to learn the traditional ones. : / We need to convince Taiwan to use the simplified characters too.

December 08, 2007, 03:23 PMHello mouseneb! I'm part of the ChinesePod team. I'll pass the message to the tech team so they'll take care of it next Monday. Meanwhile, what you can do is to download the file by doing a right click on the mp3 icon, choose "save file as" (for those using firefox choose "save link as"). Then you can open it with your iTunes or any other mp3 player in your computer. Sorry about it.
