July 28, 2008, 10:10 AMI like the addition of links! :) It adds a bit more character and trendy fashion to opening up the world of language to a lot of fun activities and news.
It's funny though because when I was commenting on a Chinese blog earlier in the day before this lesson was posted, the entry was about a war of words between Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. So I looked up how to say Microsft and Apple Inc. in my favorite Chinese-English online dictionary: mdbg. It's a great tool if you don't want to get out your dictionary on your shelf.
Learning a language requires that we be open to coincidences as well, and seeing this lesson come up just after my checking out of the same vocabulary shows progress. Learning to spot words as soon as you learn them is a vital way of making a checkpoint for yourself.

June 01, 2008, 03:10 AMBe careful if you want to say you'll go along with someone. The phrase "跟你了" means that "I'm married to you" in a status that has just changed or been decided. I'd assume that this expression is probably used a lot in dramas. I need to watch more Chinese or Taiwanese shows. Any recommendations for action dramas?
Speaking of drama, there was one in particular drama from 2007 that had Shanghai in its title. I forgot the name so I don't know where to download it. Anyone happen to know? :)
