July 28, 2011, 02:53 PMI just have a quick question about "那么" and “这么" that are used in the expansion section. There are three sentences in the expansion with the above words:
(i) 这个东西质量一般般，怎么要那么贵。
(ii) 路上这么堵，还不如走路回家。
(iii) 结婚这么麻烦，还不如不结婚。
Can these words be used interchangeable e.g. for (i) can i say:
这个东西质量一般般，怎么要这么贵
Or are there specific rules to how we use them?

July 21, 2011, 09:11 AMI know this lesson is from late last year, but I decided to make it the first lesson I go through in Chinese Pod. One of the things I am struggling with are the expanded sentences. I find there is a whole bunch of vocab that is new to me, so when I go through these expanded sentences, I find i am focusing more on the new vocab in the expanded sentences as opposed to practising the core words (usually new vocab in the unit) for the expanded sentence. Hope that makes sense.
