Hi,

I would really like to hear this lesson.  But I can only download 37 seconds of it. Is it my computer or is there a problem with your posted link?

Thank you.

Hi Rich, I've heard gu1 du2 a lot. I've also never heard 寂寞. I 've lived in China for more than a year. It's a new word for both of us.

Hi, In Hangzhou, where I am, fall is comming finally! I have a follow up question for anyone who has mastered this: the r sound as in 热 or 人。 Does anyone have advice on learning this sound? Is anyone else struggling to make it?

I've never said 我请你吃饭 as much as I do here in China.

Hi, In Reply to pgs121tw, 該 is the short form of 應該. Here is a sentence (but I don't know if it's right.)a.: 我感冒了 b: 你應該多喝水。

Hi Chinesepod/ anyone who knows: When is it polite to call someone 阿姨 (ayi) and when should I start calling them 奶奶. Also if I don't call a woman my age (30 but I look 20) 小姐 (shaojie) because that's impolite what should I call her? I've asked many people but no one can give me a clear answer.

Hi, I'm just reading over your comments about names. People don't use them a lot here. For example, I call all my neigbours "ayi" 阿姨. My neigbours differentiate each other by their appartment numbers i.e. 502 阿姨. But then again, this all old people Chinese...

hi, I know I'm a bit late coming to this discussion (two months late!). But I can't find this episode's dialogue or exercises. Maybe you've taken them down? Could you check that? Thanks :)
