February 21, 2013, 07:40 PMDuring the lesson, Dilu and John explain that 借 can both mean 'to lend' and 'to borrow'.
In the expansion section there is this sentence :他昨天向我借了两百块
I thought because it says 向我 that the 200RMB go from 他 to 我. But the translation says the opposite, can somebody explain to me?

February 19, 2013, 06:16 PMHi,
In the Expansion section, for the word 按, one of the sentence has 交法通 and the pinyin for this says jiāotōngfǎ. Something does not look right... ?
Just trying intermediate lesson from the elementary... definitely more difficult! :)

February 18, 2013, 06:21 PMI can understand the sentence "我的手机被偷了", but it sounds like something is missing to my basic Chinese... is it omitting a word after the 被?
Would it be correct to say "我的手机被他偷了"? What about “我的手机是偷了"?
Maybe is there a lesson I could study that's talking about passive form? Would that be more in the intermediate section?
Thank you!

February 21, 2013, 07:54 PMFrom what I understand from the grammar page:
* Alice借Bob... -> Alice lends to Bob...
* Alice借给Bob... -> Alice lends to Bob...
* Alice向Bob借... -> Alice borrows from Bob...
Correct?
