May 26, 2011, 03:51 PMI also like this format! Pop tv shows and movies are great for building listening skills. For those of us who don't live in China, and as babyeggplant said above, it's wonderful to have Chinesepod find these shows and discuss them in the commentary podcast.
康熙来了 has those annoying sound effects, traditional rather than simplified characters in the subtitles, and Youku has popup ads galore, but these just reflect the real world in which language exists. Personally I found the subtitles in lieu of transcript just fine.
I had no problem watching the video on the desktop, but on iphone/ipad it's another story - you can't play it in the browser because it wants flash, and if you use Youku's own app, it's dog slow on load time, not worth the trouble.
Please keep Media flowing! More often would be nice! Media and Beijing Standard Time are two favorites!

August 12, 2009, 12:48 AMThe audio review of this lesson really needs to have the audio levels equalized. Pete and Connie's levels are very low, and Jenny's is very high. So if you turn up the volume in order to hear Connie, Jenny bursts your eardrums.
