I am experiencing the same problem as brianhz - the volume which is much quieter in the Expansion sections compared to the Dialogues. Can Chinesepod do anything about it? Thanks

Can someone explain the use of gen1 and yi4 qi3 together. In the expansion there are three examples: two with gen1 and yi4 qi3 and one with gen1 on its own. What's the difference?

周末我要跟朋友玩。
I'm going to have fun with my friend on the weekend. 1 (I'm going to have fun with my friend on the weekend.)

我不想跟他一起吃饭。

I don't want to eat with him.1 (I don't want to eat with him.)

我想跟你一起去。
I'd like to go with you.1 (I'd like to go with you.)

Just signed up to Chinese Pod and already addicted.

Have a question about this lesson and a general one too.

Where are you from? is 你是哪里人？

But can you also say: 你是哪儿 人？
Where are you from? 

Also I've been using InputKing to get Chinese characters but it's not very easy to use. Are there any other translators on the web that people can recommend?
