October 12, 2007, 03:47 PMWhen fighting for the bill, and you really don't want to pay, but want to appear like you want to pay, use the hand that is opposite to where you wallet is in you pants pocket and pretend that you are trying to reach across you body to the wallet, while using to your other hand to make a gesture to stop the other guy from taking out his wallet. In this way, you have a hard time reaching your wallet and your friends wallet will out before yours!

May 25, 2007, 06:33 AMThe crash may be coming very soon. This reminds me of the Hong Kong pre-crash environment in the 90's. Can't even remember what year it was now, but that just shows you how we forget quickly the lessons of the market when easy money is flowing like water from the faucet.

May 23, 2007, 12:18 AMI don't agree with the "2 or 3" out of fifty learn traditional characters. Any student learning Chinese outside of China, I believe over 90% are learning traditional characters. Newspapers and magazine outside of China all use traditional. That includes Hong Kong, Taiwan newspapers and any other newspapers in Europe and USA. Traditional characters are still everywhere. And unless you are learning and only using it in China, if you only learn simplified, you will not be able to read Chinese outside of China very efficiently.

October 12, 2007, 04:16 PMpulosm, Keep practicing because it's an art. You have to appear "agitated" and "disoriented" in the heat of battling for the bill so that the fake gesture to reach your wallet appears genuine.
