June 01, 2012, 08:15 PMUseful vocab, could have done with it 5years ago when I went to China with a 3 month old. Most of the first words I learnt were baby related like 'cry', 'change nappy/diaper', 'feed' etc. It's all a bit close to home again as I have a 4 month old.

April 03, 2011, 02:31 PMThanks for this. I was confused about zhao and jiao too. Now I'm not so confused.

June 26, 2010, 01:57 PMLoved this lesson. Thanks guys.
Now I know how to say "England will win the World Cup" in Chinese! (or perhaps more likely, Germany will win the World Cup)

December 23, 2008, 08:01 AMMaybe I've got a weird sense of humour (I am English after all) but I thought it was quite funny. I certainly won't forget how to write 'ren' now - isn't that the main thing?
Do you need a sense of humour bypass to learn Chinese?!

October 20, 2008, 07:53 AMHi
Thanks for an interesting lesson. I tend to agree with rjberki - chemistry really is a lot more exciting than this lesson suggests. There are loads of excellent Chinese chemists in Western Universities so some more basic background chemistry vocab would be interesting to know especially if you want to have a conversation with Chinese students in the lab.
Since most of my chemistry has been to do with radioactive drugs, I wonder if you can tell me what radioactivity or radioactive is in Chinese. Thanks

September 19, 2012, 10:41 AMNice lesson, some useful stuff in there, particularly 'I had a really good time'.
I really liked Xi'an and wrote up some blogs which might help visitors to the city. Also wrote a slightly controversial one about whether the Terracotta Warriors are really as old as they say they are!
Here's the link to the blog, but it might be blocked in China: http://maggiesmag.blogspot.co.uk/2011/08/visiting-xian.html
