The new format...? I spend a lot of time scrolling now, it seems like. When I'm reviewing the vocab, each sentence takes a lot more screen real estate so I have to scroll and scroll and scroll, just to get through to the bottom of the lesson. I'm gonna try to switch back to the old now.

There's just one possible mistake that I am seeing in the expansion, where the English text is saying 300, but the Chinese is saying 3 meters.

Your guess is wrong. Why are we talking about me anyway? Please keep it relevant.

Hi Sunraider7, if you go to the "Dialogue" tab, you can read, and listen to each sentence without the background sounds. I think the background sounds are great in the lesson because it definitely adds context to what's going on.

I remember my first date with a certain girl in Shanghai, we met up in a mall and had plans to go to dinner. We hadn't selected a restaurant yet, and I told her I was ok with her choosing one. She asked if I liked spicy food. I didn't want to seem weak, but also wanted to express that there were limits (I am weak), so I told her I can handle a little bit spicy. We walked in to a restaurant called "Spice Spirit". Just walking in that restaurant made my eyes water. Trying to be tough, I ate as much as I could bear, but needless to say I never wanted to even look at another "Spice Spirit" restaurant after that! 辣死了!

Eh, I think we could've done without promoting dolphin captivity.

getting my hair cut was a bad experience about 90% of the time in China, because I didn't know how to explain it, and traditional styles over there are different than what I like, so I was always glad to get a haircut during my visits back to the states.

I am also not seeing the pinyin pop-ups. Please have this fixed ASAP. Also, I want to comment on the design change. From a website design perspective, I do not see the sense in having your navigation bar for your most commonly used features down at the bottom of the page, after scrolling through the top and middle areas which contain layer upon layer of general metadata information. I would like to see your tabs remain at the top area.

Great lesson.. My experience with the fruit vendors has generally been good. I live in Beijing, and have found one vendor that I go to regularly as his fruit has always been decent. There is one shop that opened up recently in front of my work and it looked really nice compared to the typical vendor's shops.. Very clean, very organized, and spacious.. I believe expats would be drawn to that shop and avoid the others as they don't look as nice. However, every time I've visited that nice looking shop, the fruits are not half as good as what I've bought from the "typical" vendor.. So, the lesson I wish to convey is, you can't judge a book by it's cover, even for these kind of things.

Tingyun, I don't recall saying someone was impolite. My comment was made as an observation for those on the other side of the learning curve. You are correct that they do not have to, and I never implied that they have any obligation to do such things. I just left my comment as an observation that it would help others in their learning if they are able to translate what is being discussed. Whether it does or does not hamper anyone's learning is also a matter of opinion. I myself believe that it would help. But again, I never said anyone is rude for not doing so. You guys seem a little hostile over someone making a small comment over how something may or may not help others. How do you expect to be part of a learning community? And by the way, your statement says that someone is there for their own learning purpose, but the person actually answered someone else's question, which is why this started in the first place. So she was also teaching.
