September 02, 2008, 06:34 PMErr, I mean the changeover, being referred to by Mr. Padsen, up top.

September 02, 2008, 06:32 PMI'm sorry, what changes are these? I'm a subscriber who listens to Chinesepod lessons every day of the week, I subscribe to an RSS feed, and still I have no idea what is being talked about. All I see on a quick search about changes, is a link to a MP3 file.
There's probably a written description of what's being done differently, and it's probably pretty obvious, can Chinesepod please make this even more obvious, and perhaps point me to the link, as well?

April 23, 2008, 01:18 PMDon't you mean "Chinese Pod", tuomazi? Ha Ha. I don't see any problems, at least not with the PDF. However the content of the MP3 is excellent, one of my favorite lessons. I wish it had things like "wide" (in a sports context) and "the referee needs glasses" but that would be outside the scope of the lesson.

April 23, 2008, 11:09 AMThis page will not load correctly. It will load for a second and then go blank and give an error message. There's a split-second to press "stop" and that's what I did. I wonder if this page inadvertently found itself on the wrong side of the Kung Fu Web? Or maybe it's something else, but I tried it with multiple browsers, and then chinesepod won't load at all for a minute, so it seems GFW related.

April 15, 2008, 01:05 PMI don't think "bling bling" is anything limited to black youths, and I'm not sure what "telegraph like slang" is - it sounds like it should involve dots and dashes. It's a pretty widespread slang that's probably used for advertisements at Wal Mart.

March 30, 2008, 11:49 AMGuolanusa: You don't need to set up your account special if it's off amazon.cn, it'll accept foreign credit cards, and I imagine other online shopping sites will too. Anyway, setting up your Chinese bank account for online shopping is a pretty painless process.

March 16, 2008, 04:30 PMI don't know about this lesson, honestly. I have a hard time remembering the last time I talked about General Relativity, even in English. It's such an advanced topic, maybe it should be an advanced lesson. And the banter seemed a little forced, these aren't phrases I'm going to be able to use. I guarantee that I will go through life without once hearing "How mysterious! I am more interested in how the theory of relativity applies to morality and culture." I'd really like a lesson about what's happening in Tibet. Just remember to lock the comments section afterwards :) And Gary, interesting to see you're with the UH Astronomy department, my brother-in-law David D. got his PhD from there last year. Personally I find studying languages almost entirely different from when I studied math and physics - maybe this varies from person to person.

March 09, 2008, 01:42 PMWennytao's comments strikes me as a hate-filled rant lacking in any rationale (aside from a vague reference to religion) which happens to be written in a passive tone of voice and not contain any swear words. It's a long way away from a civil tone. Once you publicly support the Chinese government's suppression of basic human rights, even if it's just for a certain class of people, it's time to look at your value system and realize there could be certain distinct flaws.

January 27, 2008, 01:16 PMI found this lesson very disappointing. "Golden Ratio"??? No talk about f-stops, aperture, shutter speed? Not mentioning "develop film" or "Fuji" or "Kodak"??? Some of these terms can be found at http://chabuduo.sinosplice.com/?p=147

April 23, 2009, 01:31 PMI was so dissappointed by this lesson - a class in Music, cool! I used to teach music in my spare time, but I don't know my Chinese vocabulary for even basic music theory...
So I was really dissappointed that this lesson was so all over the place. The vocabulary for this lesson was just a few basic terms, it's not enough to have even the simplest conversation about music. Also, I don't care about the misadventures of some mischevious student, and as with all the other Saved by the Gong lessons, I'd rather they just concentrated on the subject that's supposedly being reviewed.
Chinesepod comes up with great ideas for lessons, but I feel that at least for the lesson subects I personally find most interesting, they fall very very short, every single time.
