What would be a formal way of asking: " What's your date of birth"? Asking, " When is your birthday?' doesn't sound quite right in a professional setting.

So, is it better to use : "wo" or "bi" when introducing oneself?

I remembered Fiona mentioned in another lesson, that when you introduce yourself, you must be humble and say, bi xing........Is that better or does it sound silly.....

I heard that its inappropriate to call a young lady xiaojie in China as it may imply certain connotations. The more polite term is gu niang. Any comments on this observation?
