October 15, 2008, 07:46 PMMy wife and I are hosting a Chinese teacher from Zhengzhou for the current school year. I have tried to practice Chinese with her, but frequently find the word she uses to describe things in Chinese differ slightly from those I learned on C-Pod. She seems to be unfamiliar with jian yi or bai shi qing yi. How much difference is there between Mandarin in Zhengzhou and Shanghai?
