January 31, 2017, 07:05 PMPiggybacking on luomeil130's observation: is there any lesson that discusses the phenomenon where xiǎngyào ends up being pronounce quickly almost sounding like xiǎng'ào or even almost even approaching a nasal xiǎo? It seems there's a similar economy of effort when speakers say xiànzài quickly.

因為我一口氣拔了四顆智齒的關係，所以我十幾天才可以吃想吃的食物。而且我到現在還有一個還沒填好的小洞，每頓飯都要irrigate。Apparently, it’ll take as much as 3 months to fill. Also, considering Fiona's experience, maybe I was lucky to be knocked out!

Now it's used metaphorically to mean the climax. In my investigation, I learned that the pronunciation is yāzhòu across the Strait.

Its seems it can either be translated as "X my a$$" or "X my foot" Now I'm wondering is it as offensive as the former or more mild like the latter...?
