What is the function of the 呢 (ne) at the end of the second sentence, 要跑四十二公里呢 yao4 pao3 si4 shi2 er4 gong1 li3 ne ?

I was wondering why the 了le is at the end of 没有了。Is the the change of state 'le'? If so, why do we need it here? In restaurants I have had people tell me 没有，but they usually dont say the 'le'. I have the same question for the end of the dialogue: 只有这一间了。 Why do we need a 'le' here?

May 08, 2009, 05:56 AMHowdy yall, has anyone else had trouble with the Listen and Type exercise? On number 3, I believe the answer is 还好 but when I type it in pinyin "hai2hao3" it says it is not correct. Anyone had the same problem and/or can help? Is that right or wrong?
