Hey, even though Matt keeps saying "iPod" in this news and features, I don't think this new application works on an iPod does it? Only iPhone / iPod Touch. I downloaded it for my iPod Classic, but nothing happens.

Is that right?

@ Badowai, I too was surprised by that late booking comment - because its been the opposite for some of the flights I've booked online in China.

@CTRIP (if you're reading) please sort out your site for mac / Safari users - there's so many problems with the English version that it is virtually unworkable. Things such as, having to regularly go back to the home page to change the search info, instead of being able to change it on the left-hand column area; and sometimes drop down menus missing items. Also if you're booking for a family, you don't get an option of adults and children etc. Many other things I've found which I can't recall now, because I've gone back to using travel agents :(

Amber, your enthusiasm and love for China is very inspiring. In your podcasts you always sound like such a genuinely happy person, and listening to you and your positivity has been a blessing to many of us Westerners in China.

Cucumbers on sandwiches are the bomb! And common enough in Australia...

My swimming experiences in Suzhou are exactly the same as detailed in this podcast. I'll never forget the first time when I guy stood about a metre in front of me and watched me undress - totally staring the whole time! Anyway, put that one down to cultural differences...

The worst part for me was dealing with all the diagonal swimming... in the end I just gave up and swam laps and didn't care who I hit along the way!

When someone just won't leave you along, I often use 不要犯我 (bu yao fan wo) - I'm not sure about the character for fan - so it may be wrong, but its the fourth tone.

This always works really well - that extra 'fan', which I believe translates as something like bother, always sends a clear message.

But this may be a little rude - I'm not sure, so I usually only use it as a last resort.
