jckeith,

Starcraft = 星际争霸

Its in the Advanced lesson here:

http://chinesepod.com/lessons/%E7%BD%91%E7%BB%9C%E6%B8%B8%E6%88%8F/dialogue

(3rd line of dialogue)

I just happened to remember it was in that lesson, didn't actually remeber how to say it ;)

Whoops, good catch on the typo!  Indeed it is "four oceans for home" :)  Thanks for the other new saying, as well, I love learning them.  Since I left China a few months back, I havn't had much of an opportunity to work on my Chinese in a practical setting, thus the attempt at writing the last post in Chinese.  It is amazing how fast grammar/vocabulary skills degrade, not to mention speed of typing/talking when not immersed :(  In any case, thanks for the pointers!

Jenny,

我很喜欢《不进则退》!说英语的时候,我经常说《if you're not moving forward, you're moving backward》。不过,我还最喜欢这个成语:《四还为家》,因为我经常搬家。有可能ChinesePod可以开始教很有意思的成语(不是最有用的,就是最有意思的)?学习这样的成语,我们同时学习中国文明。

我希望我的语法和词语都没有问题。。。

谢谢,

柯展鹏

Yeah, a 发票 is government-issued; we had do go through some hoops to get ours, as they have tax implications, etc. As I understand it, the other flavors are simply generic "proof-of-sale" pieces of paper, but that's just my assumption.

In the vocab, it lists 吃素 as "to be a vegetarian", but wouldn't it translate to just "eat vegetable(s)?" I mean, could you say "我是吃素"?

haha at the one pause where Ken & Jenny are talking about "too much modesty" being pretentious, Ken says "for example..." and they pause for a moment and laugh before moving on - I have to imagine an inside joke about a mutual acquaintance...

Hey guys - I have a random question, what software or method do you use for typing Chinese characters? Copy and pasting is getting a bit old :)
