When we remember the Seventieth Anniversary of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, we engrave history in our memories, commemorate the martyrs, cherish peace, and start looking towards the future.

The fire of war spread over Asia, Europe, Africa and Oceania and over 100 million soldiers and civilians were killed or injured, among which over 35 million Chinese were killed or injured, and over 27 million Soviets were killed or injured. Ensuring that we do our absolute best to prevent history from repeating itself by upholding the human freedom, justice and peace that these martyrs sacrificed their lives for, is the best way to remember the innocent departed souls who were massacred.

War is a mirror, it allows people to know the value of peace better. Today, peace and development have become the theme of the new era, but the world is still far from peaceful, the Damocles’ sword of war still hangs above the heads of humanity. We should take history as a warning, and be firm in our determination for peace.
