The World Health Organization in its most recently published report stated that eating processed red meat, such as bacon, sausages and ham could actually raise the risk of suffering from cancer.

In the report is said eating 50 grams of processed meat a day, which is less than two slices of bacon, can increase your chances of suffering rectal cancer by 18 percent. There is currently limited evidence as to the theory that non-processed red meat might lead to cancer.
