November 02, 2007, 03:37 PM posted in General DiscussionWell, I'm moving back to Florida to be with family after over a year here in Shanghai. Will miss the city and my very good friends here.
I will be moving back to a city just 1.5 hours south of Orlando.
If anyone is interested, as I've heard there are several on this board from Florida, perhaps we can have a monthly meetup group to practice our Chinese. Let's hook up!!

November 02, 2007, 06:18 PMLikewise, though I'm three hours south of Orlando. That still puts us a fair distance from one another. If we met in the middle, a 45-minute drive wouldn't be bad once a month or so!

November 02, 2007, 10:43 PMWhen I was a kid, it was 3.5 hours to my grandparents in West Palm Beach, so I'm guessing Frank is somewhere around Fort Lauderdale, and that billybobjoebobwilly is ... well, yeah, pretty much in the middle of the lake :)

November 03, 2007, 12:42 AMSebring, Florida :-) Right up (or Down) US 27. Sebring has all of maybe 5 Chinese families most of which are Cantonese speaking so definately difficult to get some language action going there. We could also perhaps get some online speaking going through Skype or MSN...

November 03, 2007, 12:53 AMYeah, funny as it sounds, I didn't spend so much time on Chinese language in Shanghai. I was busy with my Bagua and NeiGong teachers (although neither one of the speak a word of English, I was still able to communicate as long as we didn't get "too" technical). Now that I'm going back I'll be spending much more time with upping my language skills.

November 03, 2007, 12:58 AMIf any of you Florida guys and gals know about the 12 hours of Sebring, that's also just around the corner (March next year). Come on down for some racing fun. http://www.sebringraceway.com/ http://www.americanlemans.com/home/ALMSHome.aspx
