I dispute the implication you have drawn that motorcycle riders are macho - we are in fact a meek and reflective tribe with a love of all the arts. Riding a bike on the open road puts me in a meditative state.

Simon - I am also profoundly uninterested in sport, we have that in common. (For example, for the 2000 Olympics in Sydney my family got in a ute and fled to the outback for a whole month). I don't think of rugby league as sport - it is more important than that. It is a complete universe of its own running parallel to the boring one we live and work in.
