Your username puzzled me also - I thought 'manly' was too obviously macho. I also thought your icon was the insignia of a biking gang - maybe some local Harley owner's club but I just googled it

Yeah, I did pop off to Oz recently. I was also in Chicago for half a year, some time ago. They gave me a free baseball ticket to see the … Red Sox? I sold it and made a descent profit. I'm profoundly uninterested in sports, I'm afraid.

Simon - I am also profoundly uninterested in sport, we have that in common. (For example, for the 2000 Olympics in Sydney my family got in a ute and fled to the outback for a whole month). I don't think of rugby league as sport - it is more important than that. It is a complete universe of its own running parallel to the boring one we live and work in.

I dispute the implication you have drawn that motorcycle riders are macho - we are in fact a meek and reflective tribe with a love of all the arts. Riding a bike on the open road puts me in a meditative state.

Yeh, I think I see what you mean. But I still like my theory that bike riders are sensitive flowers. My wife rides a 650 and she is a real girl. :)
