I thought it would be a good idea to share some useful websites for those who live in or visit Shanghai.
I have started a list below. Feel free to add to it - it's far from comprehensive!
English-language classifieds/events/social websites
smartshanghai.com - probably the most popular events/listings/jobs/dating website for Shanghai's foreigners in their 20s and 30s. Their street map of Shanghai is great, as is the Happy Hour map!
cityweekend.com.cn/shanghai - aimed more at expats with families.
ShanghaiExpat.com - well-established expat-focused website
urbanatomy.com - website attached to That's Shanghai magazine, pretty good editorial
shanghaiist.com- umbrella company is the Gothamist. These guys love to dish the Shanghai dirt.
Other helpful sites
Explore Shanghai - maps for the metro. You can get an accurate estimation on how long it will take to travel between stations.
www.ddmap.com - bus routes
Wufantuan - lunch deals for Shanghai
What other websites do people use in Shanghai? How about Nanjing?
