Saying Hello

Hi everyone, I'm from St. Louis, Missouri and I've been in China since Sept. 17, 2010. I'm 24 and graduated college not too long ago. I decided to pack my bags and teach English in China for a year. I'm currently living in Changxing County in the city of Huzhou in Zhejiang. It's about two hours from Shanghai. I'm not sure if there are many Americans or English speakers around the immediate area, but I thought I'd give it a shot. So far I'm the only foreigner I know of here, aside from another American who lives about an hour away. I speak very little Chinese. I'm learning slowly but surely with the help of ChinesePod and I have weekly lessons with my coworkers. So far it's been an adventure to say the least!

Good luck to you.  It sounds like you're in a great position to have your chinese learning on the fast track.
