类语词典/类属词典。。。Chinese thesaurus

November 10, 2010, 07:18 AM posted in General DiscussionI may well have missed it, but I don't ever recall seeing a thesaurus discussed on the CPod boards. Do Chinese have them and use them? [ I guess they likely do]...are they commonly used?...should we be using them? My feeling to the last question is probably not. We're usually busy trying to sort out the different nuances of meaning and usage between similar words and it's probably higher level stuff when you want to have a more impressive vocab rather than being down at utility level. Still I'm curious about what anyone has to say on the subject. I'm also guessing the second Chinese word for it in the title of this post is the more commonly used term of the two. Thoughts/comments?

thanks for that zhen. dangran, of course if anyone would have said anything on it, it would have been changye. I must have missed it. hehe, yeah, I'm sure he wouldn't have said not to use them.

November 10, 2010, 08:58 AMBaba I'm certain Changye has had something to say, I don't remember where. As well as I can recall he wasn't saying we shouldn't be using them. Sorry, that's all I have for now.
