I thought heard the teachers talking about 限 xiàn (limit/bound) as “line,” so I expected it to be the same word as used last week in ‘online’ 线 xiàn (thread/string/wire/line), but I see it is a different character. Were they saying that the words sound the same, but are different?

November 22, 2010, 09:09 PM礼拜 is actually a religious word. It means Sunday by itself. 礼拜日 or 礼拜天 are all mean Sunday too.
星期 is the most common way of saying week in daily life. It can be used in both written or spoken language.
