Quick review app, does it still exist?

Hi all

additionally to the fact that my iphone app is screwed up after the upgrade, since few days ago (before the upgrade) i cant log in any more in the Quick Review iphone app using my usual and functioning login name.

the Quick Review was immensely useful to me - i was searching for words and then reading the sample sentences. For the love of God i cant log in any more to my Quick Review, it keeps on saying that it cant find that account -  but its the same account from which i write this now and with which i can log in on the site and on the iphone app!

i thought that it might help to delete it from the iphone and reinstall it so it starts working again, but to my dismay , when searching in the App store, i cant even find a Quick Review Chinesepod app any more.

Does anyone of you know if the Quick Review app still exist and if yes, how to find it?

(i logged a support case few days ago, informing them of my problem, but unfortunately i am not getting any answer from the chinesepodders, not very cool.)

thanks

Oh no, please please bring it back!! i am getting a new iphone tomorrow specifically for this app, since the other chinesepod app is now useless to me, and the android app no longer syncs, while android quick review app never worked at all...

If this app is not in the store at that time, I will be out 6000 RMB for no reason whatsoever(i hate all things apple, use my ipods 95% of the time for chinesepod)! The full sentence audio access to CP content is by far the most useful feature you guys can offer on a mobile platform. I really don't understand why you even bother with flashcard apps while there are 3 million on the market, but that's a topic for another thread.

In general, can someone bring back the team that worked on the old iphone apps, the new ones are clearly a different style, and i have very little faith they will ever live up to the previous versions' usefulness.

I tried the android suggestion, after sign-in it just sits on the title screen with only the 'settings' menu available. Not even a button to sync, or list of lessons, nothing.

In any case, how about the quick review / dictionary app? I found that one more useful than lesson app, and used it much more frequently than the website itself. Is there any chance of resurrecting it, or adding same function into the main app? Search by word, then lookup sentences with audio was super nice.

Hi root, can you tell me how your Android App no longer syncs? I think the reason your Android App is not syncing our lessons is because it is not connected to our server. Please try the following to troubleshoot your Android App.

1. Close your ChinesePod App completely by using the "log out" function under "settings"

2. Close any opened ChinesePod log in page on your internet browser.

3. Clear your browser history, cookie and cache

4. Re-launch your ChinesePod

Our iPhone App 2.0.1 is available for download from the App Store. iPhone App version 2.0.3 has been submitted to Apple for approval. Version 2.0.3.

Hi John

thats very unfortunate. Getting sample sentences when searching for words was one of the most helpful and very unique feature you were offering against any other competitive application.

I hope you would reconsider getting that service back or part of the chinesepod app.

thanks

Re: "Getting sample sentences when searching for words was one of the most helpful and very unique feature you were offering against any other competitive application." I completely agree. It was so organic and intuitive, and amazingly leveraged CPod's strength and wealth of information in a really compelling way. It was a stroke of genius that seems to be sadly under-appreciated by its owners at CPod. I hope that some thought will go into reviving that feature in the new mobile app. How do you say "don't throw the baby out with the bath water" in Chinese?

Hi Tatjanadzambazova,

We've stopped offering the Quick Review app, and have removed it from the store and our mobile app page on ChinesePod. However, it should still work (though we don't guarantee that it will continue to work, as we've discontinued it), and I'll talk to the tech team today to see if we can figure out why your login (and pretzellogic's, and others, presumably) isn't working.
