I'm really excited about this journey I've started.Hopefully I will achieve my goals in learning 中文. I have a question;Since I'm a newbie(a really new one),is it better to work through the "sets",or mix the lessons from different sets? Any tip is appreciated.谢谢!
Have a good one y'all!

February 09, 2011, 01:21 AMThere's a set of Intro lessons for absolute beginners, which you can find by jumping to the last page of newbie lessons, with things like saying good morning and asking someone's name. You could start there, but you don't have to!
Like trevorb said, the Pinyin program is a great idea. Practicing pinyin and tones heavily when I first started learning has helped my pronunciation a lot. Plus, when it comes time to show off, saying Nǐ hǎo with perfect tones and pronunciation is more impressive than a long, garbled sentence :)

February 08, 2011, 09:17 PMOne thing I would say is don't try to find lesson One and work through in order. A few of us made that mistake! its not destructive but picking lessons or sets you are interested in is propably best.
If you are really new going through the pinyin program would probably be a good idea. You can find it by just searching for Pinyin.
