March 17, 2011, 02:21 AM posted in General DiscussionHello everyone! I wanted to take just a second to let everyone know that there is now a link to the HTML version of the PDF transcript on the lesson page. It's the "(text version)" link to the right of the PDF link, and is available to all free trial and paying customers.
This is a feature that has been asked for for quite a long time, and we hope everyone finds it useful. Please let us know if you discover any issues with the link.

Hi bodawei,
I don't think we're going to do that in-house, but a user has created a Chrome extension that does exactly what you're asking for (and much more).

Hope this helps.

I have installed that and the dialogue works nicely (the expansion sentences are buggy - maybe that will be fixed in version 0.4). I love the version numbering from 0 - very modest.
I am intrigued - if goulnik can do it, it is probably not a question of resources. Why does ChinesePod deny paying subscribers something that people are asking for? Maybe you could buy this little app from goulnik?
I am going on a bit but I think I mentioned this when I first started using the site and never got a satisfactory answer.

March 17, 2011, 02:53 AMHi John
Seems to work okay on the Hide and Seek lesson, thanks.
Is there any consideration of the suggestion that you provide a version of the transcript and the expansion sentences free of pinyin and English? I've mentioned this before and can't remember if there was a response.
At the moment if I use lesson material in hard copy I laboriously paste the text version to Word and then remove these unwanted features (made difficult by the frames - the result is more spread out than I want). Some other poddies have also said they want to see only the Chinese.
It's not that we don't appreciate the hard work on translations and pronunciation guides but it is really hard to read, much less practice or test yourself with the other material there.
I am particularly surprised that this additional material persists in UI and Advanced lessons - what is going on there? I can understand the value of having it as an option. I think it should be an option at all lesson levels.
