help me!!!

having been relocated to China for a couple of months, i'm trying to learn how to communicate with the people so as not to further frustrate them. i want to be able to basically order food and ask for things while i'm in the internet cafe or shopping for clothes, etc. ANY help lent will be greatly appreciated !!! thanks- sdg
