Fellow students, Holy-birth festival happy!

As a 圣诞 present to all of you, inspired by John's Christmas Songs, thought I would go through my huge collection of Chinese Christian songs and find all the Christmas songs I downloaded a few years ago. Really interesting to translate the Chinese songs back in to English for all of you, and link up to all the lyrics... always forget that their name translations are not always the same as the English, even though I sing these at my church in China every winter.

I made al ittle website for all this too, www.christmas.in-china.org. Can download individual songs there, or download the whole bunch (17 songs, 85MB).

Here is what I have on there so far:

(The Moon and Stars of Christmas Eve)

(We Three Kings)

(Halleluah)

(Crystal Night, Still Night)

(The First Noel)

(It Came Upon the Midnight Clear)

(Jesus our Saviour, Word Incarnate)

(O Little Town of Bethlehem)

(Silent Night)

(My Soul Doth Magnify)

(Hark! The Herald Angels Sing)

(Silent Midnight)

(Joy to the World)

(Show the Glad Tidings)

(Angels We Have Heard On High)

(Away in the Manger)

(Come, All Ye Faithful)

Merry Christmas to all of you. May the historical event this holiday celebrates bring peace and an understanding of this World's need for a Savior, and the plan God always had to become that Savior as Jesus, and do more than we ever can.

God so loved the World....

John, replying late, but heh, okay, your turn. ;) I remember working all evening on the 23 of Decemeber, being a computer geek while everyone else watched Boise State's aweful footbool game, just to get those up there. You can, uh, one-up me with Chinese New Year songs. ;)

Merry Christmas! Just got this text message from a friend: 祝圣诞节快快乐乐,幸福安康,扎西喜德德乐! Following Lantian's thread - can you translate it? Beware - it was not from a native speaker.

Yeah, what they said on the translation. Glad these were helpful! Just want to share the Christmas cheer that all people need everywhere, especially at this time when things don't seem so "peaceful" and people seem so busy. May we be united as a world with a history we all share, especially a wonderful thing we celebrate that happened 2007 (minus a few years if you want to be accurate) that was meant to bring warm hearts rather than some of the division we ourselves have caused. Merry Christmas to all! -Rich

Christmas Morning! Bazza "Not sure about 扎西喜德德乐". That actually is not Chinese. I was cheating a bit. It's a Chinese transliteration of a Tibetan wish for luck and happiness. In English it is often transliterated as "Tashi Delek". And then the person who sent the message doubled up the characters for extra emphasis. (Although that does not make sense for the Tibetan). So there: "Tashi Delek" to all and have a wonderful day!
