Marketing tactics

Two weeks ago I received an email from Chinesepod saying my subscription is ending. I was so busy I didn't have time to think about it. Today I came back to the site and found all my access privileges still there eventhough my subscription had ended. Made me feel guilty so I paid for a new round of subscription. Is Chinesepod 手段高明 (shǒu duàn gāo míng) or am I just a screwed-up customer? Probably both...
