Newbie

I am a Newbie and am new to ChinesePod.  I am only interested in Newbie lessons at this point, but I seem to be a "assigned" lessons from all the levels.  Particularly when using the Android app, I would only like to receive Newbie lessons.  How can I do this?  Currently, when I click on "more lessons" I get tons of lessons that I have to remove and only a few Newbie ones.  In subscriptions I have only selected Newbie, but this doesn't seem to make a difference.  Of course, later, I would like to have a combination of Newbie and Beginner, etc.

Click on the "Home" tab at the top, then click on the "Library" tab on the dashboard.  Along the right of the screen there will a few little things like your profile, then probably an advertisement, but you want to go to the one right at the bottom under "Your Levels/Shows" and there should be a button "Manage your subscriptions"  From there you should be able to cancel some of your subscriptions, if this doesn't work just leave another message.

Actually, you can just go straight to the "Home" tab and do the same

Thanks for replying darkstar94.  I had already done this, and I am only subscribed to the Newbie shows/level.  Everything else is unsubscribed.  This doesn't seem to affect which lessons I get.  Any other ideas?

I have another thought.  When I go to "home", "self study", and then click on "all lessons", on the right side of the screen I see a lesson archive.  There are lessons of all levels that show as active.  I can't figure out any way to edit this archive.  Maybe they came from the free sample course of lessons I got when I signed up.  I'd love to be able to edit that archive.  (I also have the problem of lessons of all levels showing up when I use the "self study", "all lessons" button.

What happens if you get rid of all your lessons? Will you still get the latest lessons from all levels?

Hi,

It's possible that there's some confusion here. Unsubscribing to a level will not clear out those levels that are already in your self-study list. Instead, it will stop new lessons at those levels from being added going forward.

To remove lessons from your list, select "Remove" from the bookmarking menu. Similarly, you can add lessons to your list with the bookmarking tools, too.

Best,

JC
